I reckon there's some good stuff happening in NZ.
They were everyone's second team this year for the sacrifices the players and all the coaching staff and management made in re-locating to Australia to keep the competition going through the COVID pandemic.
Who knows what the logistics look like in 2021 or until a vaccine has been found.
Let's hope we get back to something that resembles normality but in terms of the scheduling of matches and the travel and living arrangements of all teams.
The Warriors have added some nice pieces in the off-season.
Nathan Brown has of course been signed as the new head coach, I like this move from the Warriors.
He'll lead them well and has indicated that he wants to be playing finals in 2021.
They also added everyone's favourite commentator Phil Gould back in August who will work as a consultant.
Another good move, a very good move.
Their squad is strong, they of course lose Adam Blair who has retired but when you take what they've got and then add Addin Fonua-Blake, Kane Evans and Euan Aitken, then you've really got something to work with.
In fact the forward pack is very strong and just this week, the Warriors also added Bayley Sironen who was granted an early release from the Rabbitohs.
Add that to the likes of David Fusitu'a, Kodi Nikorima and skipper Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, then this team is looking good.
One thing is for sure, the Warriors will be bloody well supported next year.
They surely will get some home games and you could imagine the support they'll receive at those will be significant.
For those partial to a wager, the Warriors are $3.25 to make the Top 8 in season 2021. Not bad odds for a side that arguably won more games than they should have in 2020.
The disclaimer on that is that the Warriors have only played finals once in the past 9 seasons - not the best strike rate!
Regardless, I'll be cheering them on in 2021 and backing them to make the Top 8!
