Righto, we're back again.
Young Werther taken out last week on a deteriorating Moonee Valley track. He'll head straight into the Derby this Saturday as the favourite.
Whilst I think he can win the Derby, I can't back up and make him the good thing of the day.
Speaking of the Derby, how good is Derby Day.
For the racing purist, this just about as good as it gets.
That said, it's always competitive down at Flemington, there will be multiple double figure odds winners on the weekend, we just have to find them. More on that in our racing preview prior to Saturday.
But the good thing for this week comes up in Brisbane. Race 7, Red Chase.
That video is Red Chase running second in the Weetwood Handicap when he was first up, watch him zoom up the rail.
3rd up from a spell here on Saturday and I see his major competition as Emerald Kingdom which goes from 1000m-1350m and on a likely rain affected track, it'll be interesting to see how he handles the final 100m.
Think Red Chase will sit fairly handy and could potentially stalk Emerald Kingdom everywhere he does and go past him in the straight. Unlike Emerald Kingdom, I love Red Chase up to the 1350m here.
He was run of his legs a little over 1200m last start but was strong through the line, this race on Saturday just sets up perfectly.
Righto, keen here. Give this bloke some strength to get a trouble free run from the good barrier and to kick away late.
I reckon we'll get about $3.60 but I can see him being well backed closer to the race.
Go you good thing.
