Well fuck me, I am finding them harder to pick than a broken nose.
After an impressive debut, we've back a couple of slow ones and got unlucky with another, now the betting summary has us down $80 based on a strategy of $100 the win on each of the selections.
But, if nothing else, I am resilient.
Before we get into it, if you haven't seen this video tribute to the Cox Plate, check it out, it'll get the blood flowing.
Righto, this week, we're heading to Melbourne for Cox Plate day.
Race 6, Young Werther.
Fairly unlucky last start, rattling home up the inside at Flemington. Drawn to get a beautiful run and with D Oliver on board, surely we can get this fella home!
$2.35 at time of posting this, we may get better on race day.
Trainer Danny O'Brien is coming off three wins at Geelong on Wednesday and spoke very confidently about the chances of Young Werther earlier in the week.
Surely this ticks all the boxes.
Cherry Tortoni and Khoekhoe are the definite dangers, there's no doubt, particularly with the expected conditions. In fact, we might take that trifecta.
The only curve ball might be just that, a wet track, with a fair bit of rain expected in Melbourne Friday & Saturday.
But with even luck, Young Werther will be winning, this is a good horse.
Give this strength!
