The racing is about to really heat up

I had a quick look at the nominations for this weekend.

Randwick & Caulfield.

In Sydney, racing @ Randwick and there's some really exciting nominations.

Written Beauty, Masked Crusader & April Rain among others.

But the one I'll be waiting keenly on is the Gardenia Handicap over 1600m. If our old mate Quackerjack draws well in that and there isn't too much speed in the race, that might be just what we need to go one better than his second place finish over 1400m two Saturday's ago.

I'll be keen and waiting for the traders @ PlayUp to put up their prices around Wednesday afternoon.

In Melbourne, there's 8 group races @ Caulfield including the Group 1 C.F. Orr Stakes which has drawn an excellent set of nominations.

Last year it was won by Alabama Express in a bit of a boil over, this year, Mystic Journey & Sir Dragonet look set to line up among a host of other good horses.

As far as racing in QLD is concerned, early nominations for Eagle Farm on Saturday look really thin. Some trainers are boycotting the track due to safety concerns, perhaps there's more than we think.

Fortunately for us, smaller fields will mean finding a winner might be a bit easier!

We'll have our best of the weekend out on Thursday and the Punters Club podcast, like every week, will be published on Friday.

Until then...
