Ballarat Race 6 – Zabelarina
Last week, The Mock tipped all you Inside Feed fans a genuine roughie contender in the form of Danzdanzdance. Well unfortunately, triple D himself was scratched pre-race and didn’t make the jump.
Not a great way to get The Mock’s career up and running that’s for sure.
But sound the alarms, The Mock has found yet another high price outside chance that has all the chops to be winning come race time.
We move to Ballarat for Ballarat Cup Day. It is a hotly contested card that has 10 incredible races on the books. In Race 6, however, it is a roughie punter’s birthday, the whole field is incredibly open, making it hard to pick a winner, hence why the favourite is also at great odds at $5 on Play Up.
But the roughie that The Mock reckons can steal it all, is No 2 Zabelarina.
She might be coming from a wide gate but I don’t think that will stop her, because she has won from wide before. She’s first up on Saturday and this mare, absolutely flies first up.
Her first up record reads 4 from 6 win and the last 3 times she was first up, she’s gone win, win, and then yet another win. When fresh, she just seems to jump well and kick really hard, clearly loving the run after being cooped up in the paddock for so long. She hasn’t had a trot since July, so she will be ready and raring to go come race time, desperate for those gates to open so she can burst down the straight once more.
Last time she was in Ballarat, she was in the winners’ circle. Mind you, that was on Ballarat’s Synthetic track, but the Archie Alexander trained mare can win on both grass and the astro turf. A few trials recently have also suggested that she’ll have the required pace come race day and with a reported 20+ Km/Hr wind going behind her down the straight, there’s no reason why she can’t win at odds.
Perfect each-way bet for your Saturday.
Remember to stake small on your roughies, and as always, gamble responsibly.
