After a two-week holiday break, the TMRC are back! We hope that you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year period and were able to somehow spend it with some of your nearest and dearest, despite these troubling times. It is looking like 2021 is going to be a huge year not only for the TMRC but also Inside Feed in general.
Let’s kick the big year off with an absolute clean out of the bookie’s pockets. If you want regular tips throughout the year, make sure to listen to The Inside Feed Punters Club podcast, as well as the TMRC podcast. You can find both on Spotify, all you’ll have to do is search.
Alright, enough talk, let’s get stuck in!
Best Bet at Randwick
Race 3 – Zing - $2.80 Win
Going to be pretty slow paced one here as only two of the field like to go forward, while the rest prefer sitting in the midfield or off the back. So, the slow pace of the race, plus the heavy track make it too hard to go past the favourite in Zing. Been on it a few times before and I feel she is getting really close to a win. Last start was here at Randwick and it was a narrow 2nd behind Bowery Breeze and before that it was a close 3rd at Warwick Farm. She has won before in the wet, so I really think today will be her day, give it strength.
Best Bet at Flemington
Race 6 – Mosh Music - $3.40 Win
Out to 2000 metres and it is going to be a fast run race again here with Runaway, Mushaireb and Gold Fields to roll forward and Influential Girl will be running hard from the back. I think the favourite Mosh Music will be the goods from the third barrier. She was one of the fastest runners of the Boxing Day meeting when in defeat behind Defibrillate. 2000 metres on the big track, she is close to peak fitness, so I just think she will be too good. If not maybe something small Each Way on Pancho. But my main bet will be Mosh Music to win.
Best Each Way Bet of The Day
I know the career of 24:0-1-2 doesn’t read like great form, but hear me out. Not Mine has unfortunately been plagued by a long streak of 4th and 5th placings. In fact, 9 of those 24 runs he was narrowly off the top three. His form line would read a lot better if in those 9 runs he was just a split second faster. I am not giving up on this horse, he is crying out to be in the money after 3 straight 4ths. He is racing his heart out and I really think he has found a race where he can find his way into the money. Easily worth a few bucks each way.
The Mock’s Roughie Alert
Going to take a massive throw at the stumps in the last at Gold Coast in the form of Akage. She is one of the hottest and coldest horses going around at the moment. However, when she is hot and in form, she has shown sparks of major amounts of talent. Far from disgraced last time out when finishing 9th, but she was only 2 lengths off the finish. The race before that, she won in great fashion and she can do the same here. Has a good record at the track and if she can get luck from a nice draw, she’ll hopefully be finishing off better than the rest.
The Mock’s Multi Madness
Best Bet Multi - $9.80
Combine both of our best bets in the form of Zing in the third at Randwick and Mosh Music in the sixth at Flemington and if they both win; you’ll get almost $10 odds on Play Up.
Around the Grounds Multi - $6.79
We go around the grounds once more, remember to take these as single win bets and combine them all into this place multi that pays $6.79. Of course, Zing and Mosh Music take up our NSW and VIC slots. We head to South Australia at Murray Bridge and in the seventh race we hope that Hearty Lass provides the goods. In QLD, on the Gold Coast I believe The Astrologist is the best of the day and will win for us, if not place. Finally, at Ascot in WA, Chilli Is Hot seems to be the best bet here and hopefully it secures us the multi win.
Magic Millions Multi - $57.91
Here is a multi that is worth a spare fiver if you’ve got it. As we all know, the Magic Millions Carnival is about to kick off and in honour of that we are going to take a stab at combining the best bets in each of the three ‘Magic Millions’ namesake races taking place on the Gold Coast this weekend. In the third of the day, the Country Cup, we take Unconditional. In the sixth and seventh, the Rising Stars races, we take Stolen Jade and one of my personal favourite horses in form at the moment – The Astrologist. Hopefully all 3 are able to salute for us.
Well punters, that’s the Saturday Shakedown for the week, good luck to all of you out there and we hope that by Saturday night we have funded a few of your beers. Remember, however, to know your limits and ALWAYS gamble responsibly.
