The Mock Racing Club's Saturday Shakedown - 24/04/21

We are back to shake down this weekend’s massive cards after a relatively positive outing last week, however, wasn't Verry Elleegant and Probabeel disappointing with the 2nd placings! Hopefully, this week, we are able to snag a few winners, let's get stuck in.

Best Bet @ Randwick

Race 2 - Kiku - $2.40 Win

Winners just win and Kiku has proven time and time again that she just gets it done. Should have the number of this mob and with Tommy Berry on board, she should absolutely smoke them. I expect her to turn the corner into the straight and absolutely blitz it to the line and win in a strong fashion.

Best Bet at Caulfield

Race 2 - Pride of Jenni - $3.60 Win

Love the way she goes about her business, I've backed her in many times before and she has been kind to me, having never missed the top 3 in her 6 career starts. She has yet to run a bad race and will be keen to get another win, Jye McNeil should hopefully give her a smart steer, all the way to the win.

Best Each Way Bet

Race 5 - Roheyrn - $7.50 Win/$2.10 Place

This is a horse that can run like an absolute jet if you give him space. Adores the track at Randwick and does his best work on good conditions as well so that is a massive tick. The biggest tick of all in my mind though is the fact that one Miss Jamie Kah goes on board. Jamie Kah is the best in the game at getting horses back on track so I expect her to give this gelding who has had some tough luck as of late.

The Mock's Roughie Alert

Race 9 - Lucicello - $21 Win/$5 Place

Going to go to the well one last time with this horse. I had originally sacked it, but her recent 2nd placing behind Lost and Running on the Kenso track at Randwick caught my attention. That was in an absolute bog of a track as well, and it can be argued that she does her best work in the dry, so I am just wondering why they've marked her $18 more than the favourite when she got near him in the bog. So, I'll take the massive price and throw a few each way on her and hope she causes the upset.

The Mock's Multi Madness

Best Bet Multi - $8.49

Combine Kiku and Pride of Jenni into a multi and if they both win, you’ll collect a lovely $8.49 odd multi.

Around The Grounds Multi - $3.31

We go around the grounds once more, remember to take these as single win bets and combine them all into this place multi that pays an even $3.31. Of course, Kiku and Pride of Jenni take up our NSW and VIC slots. We head to South Australia at Morphettville and in the sixth race, we hope that Annavisto provides the goods. In QLD, at Doomben, I reckon Tycoon Evie is the best and will win for us, if not place. Finally, at Ascot in WA, Panzdown seems to be a real good chance to take it and as a result, we will back him in.

Just For Fun Multi - $45

For this one, we will see if we can tip the biggest 2 at Randwick this week, if it gets up, you owe us a beer. In the Champagne Stakes let’s cheer home COnverge and we’ll roll that into the All Aged Stakes with Kolding. Certainly worth a fiver or two if you have them lying around.

Well, punters, that’s the Saturday Shakedown for the week, good luck to all of you out there and we hope that by Saturday night we have funded a few of your beers. Remember, however, to know your limits and ALWAYS gamble responsibly.
