We were able to jag a couple of winners last week, in fact both of our best bets of the major cards got up, which means the Best Bet Multi got up at over $6 odds. Hopefully, we can continue this form into this week’s meets, let’s get stuck into it!
Best Bet at Randwick
It will be a moderate tempo in this one with Invinciano, Helga and Strange Charm to roll forward. Bowery Breeze and Enduring Charm will be running from the back and will come home the fastest but I don’t think either will be the winner. In turn, I will be taking the loyalty bet of Zing. We Have backed her every start this prep and he went 3,2 and then finally 1. We stuck with her and she finally saluted for us. I think she can salute once more again and at these I’ll happily take a bet on her for the win and maybe even each way if the place goes over $2.
Best Bet at Sandown
Out to 2400 metres and it is going to be a slow run race here with Diamondsandbubbbles, Djukon and Bartholemeu Dias to roll forward and Double You Tee will be running hard from the back. I think Mosh Music will be the goods from the wide barrier. She was one of the fastest runners of the Boxing Day meeting and I am keen to take that form line on again after we backed her last run when she ran 5th. At peak fitness now surely, so I just think she will be too good and hence I’ll go Mosh Music to win.
Best Each Way Bet
Maiden races are never fun, but I believe I have found a winner here, or at least a very confident value play. Last week, we saw Golden Slipper chance Remarque make his stellar debut and I believe have found another outside Golden Slipper chance, I believe in Waller trained Giannis. Been tipped into it by a friend of mine who has talked to the trainers and apparently, he believes that it’s a real handy chance to win the slipper. I got on him at $251 in the futures and he is now into $67. On the weekend he will run around the track at over 8 to win and 2 to place, so I’ll take him EW in support of my futures bet.
The Mock’s Roughie Alert
Going to be fast run again here with Melik, Expellable, Makana and Katgully Red to roll forward. I think Katgully is over the odds purely with the potential track bias as the rail is out nine metres and he will have the second barrier and will lead and as such he will hit the corner into the straight. This way he will have the first bite of the cherry in terms of getting the win. So, at $15 to win and $2.40 to place it is worth a small bet.
The Mock’s Multi Madness
Best Bet Multi - $17.94
Combine both of our best bets in the form of Zing in the ninth at Randwick and Mosh Music in the fourth at Sandown and if they both win; you’ll get almost $18 odds on Play Up.
Around The Grounds Multi - $9.01
We go around the grounds once more, remember to take these as single win bets and combine them all into this place multi that pays $9.01. Of course, Zing and Mosh Music take up our NSW and VIC slots. We head to South Australia at Gawler and in the fifth race we hope that Taken Off provides the goods. In QLD, at Doomben, I believe Ligulate is the best at Doomben and will win for us, if not place. Finally, at Ascot in WA, Cousin Ivan seems to be the best bet here and hopefully it secures us the multi win.
Just For Fun Multi - $65
For a little bit of fun and for something to chuck your spare change on we will take Quackerjack in the eighth at Randwick, if you want to know why, then you can read all about it’s chances here https://www.insidefeed.com.au/post/this-ll-win-on-saturday-vol-18 . We will be rolling that into another rough chance at Sandown in the third with Run To Perfection. If both win, you’ll be thanking us later.
Well punters, that’s the Saturday Shakedown for the week, good luck to all of you out there and we hope that by Saturday night we have funded a few of your beers. Remember, however, to know your limits and ALWAYS gamble responsibly.
