The Mock Racing Club’s Saturday Shakedown 13/03/2021

We are back to shake down this weekend’s cards and try and find some winners. We aren’t going to lie, we aren’t in the best of form, but we want to really rip in this week with a few winners. So, enough talk, let’s get stuck in!

Best Bet at Randwick

Race 3 – Ingratiating - $2.25 Win

Gee the Blue Diamond form has gone well lately hasn’t it? Anamoe smashed it in at huge odds last week, and he finished 3rd behind this big boy Ingratiating. So, the form lines up, as does the ability. Wet track shouldn’t be a problem with descendance from Lohnro, plus Rachel King on board with blinkers off first time was the same set up for Anamoe. I expect a repeat of last Saturday and Ingratiating should take the cake.

Best Bet at Mooney Valley

Race 4 – Ancestry - $2.60 Win

Real keen to see how this fella bounces back from a shocking Oakleigh Plate run. I will forgive that run however, as he doesn’t absolutely love a first up run, but he relishes within a second up capacity. Not only this, but he loves to run as favourite, winning 4 from 5 at the low odds. Loves the distance and the track, see no reasons why he can’t trot this in.

Best Each Way Bet

Randwick R6 – Yaletown - $9 Win/$2.50 Place

The WaterBott trained three-year-old that resumed recently and the jockey just went a touch too slow on him, another hundred metres and he would be 2 for 2 in his young career. Despite a wide draw, he has the speed to overcome it and bounce back here. Timmy Clark should lead him from the front and steer him all the way to a dominant win at odds.

The Mock’s Roughie Alert

Randwick R9 – Bullfinch - $31 Win/$8 Place

There have been plenty of roughies getting up over the last few weeks, so why not have a cheeky punt on this British stallion. Bullfinch has been dominating the European scene for a bit now, but it will be interesting to see how he fares against the Aussie horses. Collett on board, and he has the perfect opportunity to steer a roughie home. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

The Mock’s Multi Madness

Best Bet Multi - $5.50

Combine Ingratiating and Ancestry into a multi and if they both win; you’ll collect a lovely $5.50 odd multi.

Around The Grounds Multi - $3.73

We go around the grounds once more, remember to take these as single win bets and combine them all into this place multi that pays $3.73. Of course, Ingratiating and Ancestry take up our NSW and VIC slots. We head to SA at Morphettville and in the eighth race we hope that No Strings brings the goods. In QLD, on the Gold Coast, I think Socialising will win for us, if not place. Finally, at Ascot, in WA, Cuballing seems to be a good bet and as a result, we will back him in.

Just For Fun Multi - $75.50

For a bit of fun and a spare fiver, we will try and back the winners from the two biggest races on Saturday, the Coolmore Classic and the All Star Mile. We will take rough chance Krone in the Coolmore, before turning that into Probabeel in the All Star. If it gets up, we’ll be cheering.

Well punters, that’s the Saturday Shakedown for the week, good luck to all of you out there and we hope that by Saturday night we have funded a few of your beers. Remember, however, to know your limits and ALWAYS gamble responsibly.
