Is this deja vu?
QLD paying $2.55 to beat the Blues.
Thanks very much.
The only way QLD can lose, and it may come to fruition, is if Cameron Munster goes down with that pesky foot injury at any stage.
If Munster sees out the full 80 minutes at anything like 90% fitness, QLD will win.
I'll take $2.55 for that.
This time last year?
Well we weren't playing origin were we - that was saved for November.
But Game 1 2020, QLD skipped out to a 20-6 lead and held off NSW to win by 6.
Can't imagine it'll be too different this time around.
The Maroons will send a lot of traffic at Jarome Luai on his origin debut, he'll have to make some tackles.
I think the Maroons pack will be dominant.
Tino & Fifita, the Gold Coast connection.
Oh here's Game 3 highlights for all you Blues fans out there!
Poor old James Tedesco...
Anyways, I digress.
I would prefer Ponga in the #1 jersey and Val Holmes out on a wing finshing off some tries but unfortunately KP is injured, again.
With the new rules in play, this'll be a fast game.
Damien Cook hasn't been in the best of touch but he'll get his opportunity here but where I think the Blues stuffed things up was in the selection of Jack Wighton on the bench.
That last 20 minutes, the gaps are going to open up, I thought Cody Walker might have been a better option late in the game.
QLD's finisher is AJ Brimson, sounds like a wrestler name but the guy can play and I expect him to have a big last 20 minutes.
We all know as well that Dane Gagai will put his Superman cape on tonight and be near enough to the best on ground.
With all that considered, the game comes down to Cameron Munster and I'm banking on him being fit and firing.
My bets for tonight:
- QLD to win @ $2.55
- QLD to win by 10 points @ $26
- Man of the match, who else but Cameron Munster
- First try scorer, David Fifita
Go the mighty maroons!
