Should I double-down on this bet on the Raiders?

As regular Inside Feed readers would know, I had a $100 bet with my mate that the Raiders would make the Top 4 in 2020.

You can read about that here.

How did that pan out?

Well, as we know, they finished 5th.

Had the Tigers beaten the Eels in the final round, we were home for 4th, but as we know, the Tigers choked and despite leading up until around the 65th minute, allowed Parramatta to come back and win.

The fact it was Parramatta that broke my heart made is 10x worse.

Anyways, moving on.

Should I double down on the bet for 2021? Let's have a look.

There is a fair bit of stability in the playing roster.

The big losses for next year?

Of course, Nick Cotric moving to the Bulldogs is a big loss, so too is the departure of John Bateman who returns home to the Wigan Warriors.

The notable additions are the young fullback from Penrith, Caleb Aekins, Ryan James from the Titans and the signing of 19-year old English second rower Harry Rushton to a 3-year deal.

The other big 'in' on last year will be the return of Josh Hodgson, of course he ruptured his ACL back in June.

What about the draw?

Round 1 against Wests @ home = win

Round 2 against Cronulla away = win

Round 3 against New Zealand @ home = win

You'd think they'll be 3 from 3!

Things might get tougher after that with a trip up to the Gold Coast followed by a visit to Penrith.

But with a rocking GIO Stadium in Canberra for most the year, the Viking clap out in full force and the bitter cold temperatures greeting visiting sides, the Raiders look a pretty good bet I reckon.

In Sticky Stuart we trust! Right?

So what do you think, should I have another $100 on the Raiders to make the Top 4 in 2021.

I think it's a smart play, but let me know what you think below!
