The spring racing carnival is over for another year, well the Flemington part anyways.
If Prince of Arran gets out a bit earlier, it would have been a really good, it was still pretty good thanks to a couple of nice wins in Brisbane late on Stakes Day.
What about the TAB going down, fuck me!
Anyways, we're back to find more winners and some bumper racing across the weekend, I reckon we've found some winners!
First bet of the day comes up in Race 2. This should be a case of different class with Morton's Fork. Big run last start on wet ground which he doesn't really enjoy, back on top of the ground, or near enough to it this week and gets J Byrne. Keen on this bloke, particularly if we're on a good track around $3.50!
In Race 5, they might not see which was Dusty Tycoon goes, but this horse always seems to find trouble, whether it be a shit house ride or something that brings it unstuck. Even luck it'll win.
Best bet of the day comes up in the last, can not believe the price and we've already made some noise about it this week on Inside Feed, you can read about that here.
There's some good horses getting around at Sandown, some that'll bounce back from some indifferent form and others that'll appreciate the good track and the wide open Sandown track.
I'll keep the powder dry until Race 6, the Sandown Guineas. Concede the favourite gets the gun run but it didn't exactly run out the 1600m last start did it? I can see it drifting. What about Sweet Reply last start, her and Joviality would have run the quinella but they both had no luck. I am backing Sweet Reply ($3.80) here, drawn out, it won't get any interference this week you'd think. The owners of this thing must be wondering what they've done wrong, the last two starts have been a fucking hard watch!
Race 8 is the Zipping Classic, I am backing Princess Jenni (said in my best Forest Gump voice). Beat Pondus to win the Bendigo Cup, he then came out and ran second in the Queen Elizabeth last week and was well backed. Bit of money already for Jenni and no surprise when you have Melbourne Cup winning jockey Jye McNeil on board.
Last race of the day, treading carefully but thought the run of My Pendant last start was fairly good, might be worth a bit each way if they're able to run on by that stage of the day. $12 or thereabouts with J Kah on board, let's go each way.
Well, Newcastle looks harder to pick than a broken nose, just the two bets there on Saturday.
First bet of the day will be in Race 3, on paper it looks a two horse race but going to back Fortress Command to beat the favourite here with a fitness edge. Should get the spot just behind the pace, which might actually be Vadiyann. Think Nash will present thing bloke at the right time and get the money.
Race 7, I'll be backing Ranier. Drops fairly significantly in the weights and like it here third up. There's been money for this bloke already and just seems to find the right race here. Good bet each way around $5.
The little Adelaide mail has been going okay, so I'll take a stab this week at Eperdument in Race 3 at each way odds and Trip in Race 5 to roll the favourite.
Good luck, good punting, gamble responsibly.
