Saturday Racing Preview - Value galore!

Mackinnon Stakes Day in Melbourne and some big fields and great value. I am still getting over Prince of Arran, if he gets out a little earlier, it's a winner. Ouch.

Nonetheless, more winners to be found for the last day of the carnival, we're backing a lot of horses at big prices!

Race 3 of the day is our first bet and really like one at odds here, concede Bold Star is a strong chance but it's never been at the trip, might be ready now. Anyways, going with Reykjavik here for Jye McNeil, the Melbourne Cup winning jockey! Last fastest 200m of the race last start when it had no chance from the back, then it was only 1.4L off Behemoth and flashing late in the Group 1 Rupert Clarke. Good track and Flemington suit here, $8.50 is a great price. Give it strength!

Another one at each way odds in Race 5! Chapada! Drops back from the Caulfield Cup where it ran very well, think it'll get a dream run here and look the winner at some stage. It's also $13 here, this is a good bet.

Race 6 @ Flemington, how's this for a race? The Darley Sprint Classic. Conceding that Bivouac and Libertini are huge threats, but backing Nature Strip down the straight here. 4 wins from 5 starts @ Flemington and thought his run in The Everest on a ridiculous speed was very good. Hugh Bowman jumps on, keen on this bloke finding his best form around the $4.60.

Mackinnon Stakes is tough, maybe the Kiwi mare, Melody Belle but without confidence. Whilst the last race is an absolute raffle and I'll be backing one at $20. I'm Telling Ya. Hasn't won first up so needs to buck that trend but at the big price, this is a decent enough horse to not have a bit each way.

In Race 3 at Doomben, the best each way bet of the day is Populist. Yes, he's only second up and getting out to a trip and admittedly, if this was Eagle Farm, I'd be a lot more confident, but regardless, thinking at around $7 this is a good bet. Hopefully the field breaks up a bit and we can pinch some runs on the turn, if that happens, this is a good bet.

In Race 6, treading carefully but when they put $17 up about Minjee on Thursday, I thought they had something wrong. Was alright first up after missing the start a length and stuck to the inside on the way home which I don't think the horse enjoyed and it was probably in the wrong part of the track. $17 is a big price, we should get enough tempo on and if it isn't a mad leader bias, Minjee is capable of sailing down the outside.

Best of the day comes up in the last in Brisbane, let's hope we've built a big bank before that! Command'n'conquer, you can read about here.

Let's get the cash early in Sydney, Race 1! I am not sure what is going on with the market but how Approach Discreet isn't close to favourite is baffling. $5? Yes please. Looked gone on the turn last week and kept plugging away, think it clearly has superior form and loves the wet track which it'll get on Saturday. Might have to go back to last from the barrier but keen on it to run a very good race each way.

Just 1 other bet in Sydney for the day, we're waiting until Race 8 and Frosty Rocks. First up from a spell but drawn to probably either lead or box seat. Like this guy to get the job done first up on the wet track around $2.35.

A couple of bets @ Morphetville this Saturday. Viduka (Mark) @ $2.20 in Race 5 and I'll be having something on Lakhani Rose in the last, albeit I might go heavy the place and just something small on the win.

Good luck, good punting & gamble responsibly.
