Saturday Racing Preview - 9th January 2021

If you're in Brisbane and in lock down - hopefully this guide serves to keep you entertained and make you rich.

Alrighty - 1 week out from the Magic Millions carnival.

If you haven't been, it is a ripping day on the Gold Coast. COVID might knock that about this year but the racing will still be top shelf.

Before we dive into this Saturday's selections, if you're partial to a bet, which I presume you are given you're reading this blog, then you should be on the Inside Feed Punters Club on Facebook. Find us and join - it's all free and always will be.

Now that's out of the way - let's get into it.

First bet in Melbourne in Race 3, White Hibiscus which will go around a short priced favourite @ $2 or thereabouts. Impressive win last start, well drawn and D Lane on board, enough said.

Bit of a wait after that winner in Race 3, our next bet will be in the second last, Race 8, Garimpeiro. Ran home very well last week, coming from last and now draws well here, think it has good upside and nice each way odds around $4.40. Keen on it, probably a 1x2 sort of play, bit harder on the place bet.

To round out the day @ Flemington, giving That Girl another chance after a failure last start. Like it drawn out wide down the straight here, hopefully it sits back and zooms home over the top, each way again here around $7.

Pinnacle Prince looks a nice bet in the 2nd @ Randwick on Saturday around $1.60. No spoils with the price but I'm just in love with this horse.

Very good horse that won well first up - should go on with it - that might be the multi play of the day with White Hibiscus in Melbourne.

In Race 3, I've got a big watch of Fifteen Aria. Might be a bit much for it but it was very good on debut and has been well backed already, treading carefully but looks a nice prospect, very light bet on it around $4.40.

Last bet in Sydney, sticking fat with Fulmina in the 7th. Again, we made it our best of the day two starts ago and it officially did nothing. It's better than that and up in trip helps with McEvoy engaged to ride. $5.50 or thereabouts is a good each way bet, wet track gives it a big help.

Gold Coast

Ahhh the racing on the coast this weekend is excellent!

First bet of the day comes up in Race 2. If this had of drawn better, it would be bet of the day material but I think Miss Hipstar ($3.80) is a nice prospect. 1100m might be the issue, I'd prefer it at 1000m but hopefully L Cassidy takes it right to the front and it kicks away. Two horse race that one, perhaps a good quinella with Swift Witness.

Race 7, have to be with The Astrologist here for Craig Williams who's up from Melbourne for the weekend. This is best weighted horse all day and the inside draw should give it the chance to lead and win. Already good money, but $2.80 is still a good price. Keen here.

Best bet of the day comes up in the 8th @ Gold Coast, you can read about that here.

At a quick glance at Murray Bridge racing on Saturday, just the 1 bet, that'll be Sizzlefly in the 5th - looks well placed.

Good luck, good punting & gamble responsibly.
