Saturday Racing Preview

Last weekend to earn a packet before Christmas!

It's been a very, very tough grind lately, that would be fair enough to say.

But, another week, another opportunity to change our fortunes, let's get stuck in.

Racing again @ headquarters this week in Melbourne, bit of rain around, likely we're on a Good 4 / Soft 5 sort of track, that's how we've seen it anyways.

They've made it very hard for us to fill the stocking this week, only the two bets in Melbourne.

Race 3, we'll back Damien Oliver to get the money on Sensationalism. Decent enough win last start where it sat on speed and is drawn well to get the plum spot on Saturday. Could even lead if nothing else wanted to go forward, $3 or thereabouts, wouldn't want anything less but I'll be backing it.

The other bet in Melbourne is also with Damien Oliver, Can't Be Done. Was in the worst part of track and well back last start, went to the line well alongside The Astrologist. That's good enough form, $5.50 looks a nice price and drawn out down the straight suits. Give Olly strength!

Kicking things off early in Sydney.

There's an un-raced colt running for Bowman & Waller worth more than $1m, that's Zarastro. It trialled okay, but I am going to side with the Godolphin colt, Paulele. It was very good at the Valley on debut and from barrier 1 for Kerrin McEvoy, it'll be hard to beat. Already good money for it, $2.50 looks probably close to rock bottom so we might get better on game day.

Race 4 @ Randwick, keen on Accountability. Ran home well last start against Significance off a slow speed, a predicted rain effected track and big field suit big time, as does J Mac. $2.70 - keen!

Bet of the day time in Race 5 @ Randwick, you can read about that here!

4 bets in Sydney. It's a 10-race card and we're leaving the quaddie alone, Race 6 will be our last bet of the day in NSW, with a horse that we were on last start that rattled home and arguably could have and should have won. Sausedge! It'll come to the outside and if they're making ground in Sydney, watch for this one late!

Plenty of rain around all week in Brisbane, track may get into the soft range.

*Late Addition*

For those listeners of the Inside Feed Punters Club Podcast, you'll know we tipped a couple @ Doomben that have been scratched already. The Heavy track never eventuated!

So I am throwing into my tips one at short notice, that's Race 3 @ Doomben, Smart 'n' Sexy. Now that the track is drying out, it looks a nice bet first up. Think this horse has a touch of class, good barrier and R Fradd should give it every chance. $2.90 or thereabouts - like it!

Bit of a break until the 6th @ Doomben, if La Jument can keep in touch early, it'll be strong late. First up on a likely heavy track might be the query but happy to find out around the $6.50. Good speed in the race, Parko will be handlebars down from the get go, so long as there isn't a stack of scratchings, La Jument should get the tempo to suit.

Isotope vs Away Game in the 8th in Brisbane will be a great race. Isotope looks a star but @ around $1.60, I'll stay out this week - could win the Magic Millions in a few weeks but!

Good luck, good punting, gamble responsibly!
