We're back again, seriously, how about the last few weeks?
Placings left, right & centre.
Something like 14 of the last 20 things we've back have finished either 2nd or 3rd.
Some of them have paid a nice each way price, but for the most part, we're trying to back them to win!
So now, it's our job to find some bloody winners!
I've given myself a pep talk, let's get stuck in, pun intended - see Brisbane tips.
What a seriously hard card of racing - fair dinkum.
Only two bets here.
Race 6, have to be with William Thomas with the smart claim for Will Price around the $8 mark. This bloke has been running well behind horses like Exhilarates and now lobs up here! This looks a much easier assignment. Well drawn, should sit back around mid field and come with one nice run!
Loves a good track, well weighted after the claim and a nice price, jeez this is a nice price!
The other bet in Melbourne is the best of the day across the country in the last race, you can read about that here!
They haven't made it easy for us in Sydney on Saturday - crikey!
Nothing for me until Race 5, backing a horse I actually backed last start to a win and now draws perfectly, with no weight and a top jockey on.
That's Bigboyroy. Hoping he sits just behind a pretty decent tempo here, I think this is a fairly nice horse. $3.80 or thereabouts looks a nice price, it is weighted and drawn to win this!
The only other bet in Sydney comes up in Race 8 - Sausedge.
I am a little concerned about the weight but just think this horse finds the right race here to be able to get balanced up early and then come home with a strong run late. It won't be anywhere near the lead, Rachel King should get a nice spot from barrier 6. Last start it had no luck, held up on the turn and flashed late, admittedly @ Gundagai, but I like it here! $10 is a nice price!!
I think there's a couple of good things in Brisbane on Saturday, unfortunately not until the last two races.
In Race 6, I am going to be backing Get Stuck In around $10. Not a huge bet, but 3rd up, this horse is 4 wins from 4 starts and I thought the last start wasn't too bad when he was wide on the turn on speed. Barrier 1 on Saturday, 2000m should be ideal now, nice price!
Righto, the good things.
What about Jonker first up? Sustained speed!
Sat on speed and smashed his rivals and the track record! That was nice and easy for the Gollan trained runner. Think he can do it again from the good barrier. Doesn't have to lead, but I'd prefer it if he did to be honest! There's some decent speed in this race but I think he would be wasting his best attribute - high cruising speed - if he sat behind. Anyways, J Byrne knows how to ride, $2.80 seems about right!
In the last, I am with the favourite, what about Isotope last start? Bombed the start and still almost won. My concern here is that it missed the start last time and now it draws barrier 1, meaning it will be in the barriers for a long time. Concern!
All things being equal, this should be one of those ones where you just pile into the favourite in the last and cheer it home hard!
Nothing in Adelaide last week, Charossa got the cash for us last week there while Debt Collector broke our heart - again!
