Saturday Racing Preview

The good horses are making their way back, I like it.

Some interesting spring prospects stepping out in both Sydney & Melbourne.

Let's dive in.

Moonee Valley

Love racing @ the Valley but it's a tricky old day so just treading carefully with the two bets. First one of those comes up in Race 3, backing Front Page to lead and win. Should find the rail and the front, don't think there's too much pressure and if there isn't, should have a good enough kick to hold out Corner Pocket which will sit on it's back. $3.60 could go either way, I'll take it now and hope they back it.

Race 7 @ Moonee Valley, Jamie Kah would have got the pick of the rides here and she's gone with Heart Of Puissance ($3) and he just looks ideally placed here with 54kg. Stalks, pulls out on the turn and wins, pretty keen on this fella - clear best of the day in Melbourne.

First bet of the day is Race 4 in Sydney, that's Re Edit ($6.50). Hugh Bowman on after a fair run first up where the race probably wasn't run to suit. Hughie can lift this type of horse for Chris Waller and an each way price here is attractive.

Race 6 @ Randwick is all about Four Moves Ahead, no favours with the price but expect it jump shorter than the current $2.20 quoted. Nice horse.

Spring is in the air, the Winx Stakes. Cracking field and I can't understand why Verry Elleegant is $2.90, should be less? I think the danger is Dreamforce getting an easy time in front and showing a strong kick but all things being equal, the mighty mare wins.

Eagle Farm

Racing in Brisbane is @ Eagle Farm.

Bit of a lottery like every other week but I thought Steel Pier might run a race third up with no weight in the second race around $8. Thought he went through the line well last start, albeit not competitively and the extra distance will suit. Nice each way chance.

Best of the day comes up in Race 5 @ Eagle Farm, you can read about that here.

I am going to have $1 each way (maybe a bit more) on Charlie Sphene ($26) in the 8th, purely because he'll lead at a good tempo and whilst So Clever probably get the suck run in behind, maybe we can pinch it. Maybe.

The best each way bet all day might be Hasta La War in the 6th in Adelaide. If the tempo is on, he'll go back and storm home, $11 is generous.
