BIG day of racing to follow on from the New Year's Day cards around the country.
We're on a bit of a heater, let's keep the momentum rolling.
No one reads this bit anyways so let's just jump in.
They've made it pretty fucken hard for us in Melbourne this Saturday.
I am waiting all day until the last two races - a bit of patience and a bit of discipline - hopefully.
Race 8 Caulfield, plenty of respect for Sword of Mercy which won well down the straight first up and gets J Kah. But plenty of speed on paper and a tricky barrier, it just sets up brilliantly for the favourite, Terbium. He's won @ Caulfield before - have a look!
Admittedly, he has burnt me before but trialled brilliantly and then destroyed a decent field in Adelaide. If he's back to his best, he's very good and he appears to be going very well. Pretty keen around $2.90.
The last race @ Caulfield, I am going to go with the ever consistent Kaplumpich. Didn't fire a shot last start but if you forgive that one, $7 or thereabouts are great each way odds - this is his type of race and back to 1600m will suit. He's never won at Caulfield, he's run well, but never won, which is a bit surprising, but nonetheless, backing him each way here.
Big fields for a big day of racing in QLD!
We don't have to wait long before the first bet on the Brisbane card, Race 2, Macewen around $8.00. Thinking Racecourse Road and Epic Girl might go hard early, might give Macewen the dream run in behind the speed. Form around The Harrovian last start, he missed a run when he needed it and should have finishes closer and third up record reads 2 wins from 3 starts. Thinking this is a good sneaky each way bet.
Ranch Hand should win Race 4, that seems to be a very good bet, but no prizes for picking it @ $1.45 or thereabouts.
Last race in Brisbane, going to tip against the QLD'er and crowd favourite Kisukano. Going with the Godolphin mare, Athiri. Hopefully Nash gets his eye in with a winner on Ranch Hand and it's just drawn to get the beaut run here. $4.20 looks a great price that beat Southern Lad pretty convincingly last start - like it!
On the Kenso track in Sydney, likely on a heavy track with rain around.
Race 5, Edison looks a good thing doesn't it. Loves the wet track and in form. Either leads or probably sits outside Special Missile, this just looks way too good for them in this race with a few resuming. $1.95 is a good price.
Last race of the day, what about the win of Salina Dreaming ($3.40) last start, very impressive. Regan Bayliss jumps on and it should make all it's luck out in front or close to the speed. Handles the wet track okay, ticks all the boxes here, not the best bet I've ever seen but worth a few bob.
Best bet of the day is in Adelaide this week - you can read about that here!
