Saturday Racing Preview

Rain and COVID.

What a time to be alive.

Luckily, we can sit on the couch and watch some horses run around this weekend and make some money.

Sadly, Sunshine Coast is off - we'll try and find a few interstate.

Nice weekend last week, let's make some more savvy investments.

Jamie Kah looking for 100 winners in a season, outstanding. I reckon she might get some today.

First bet of the day will be nice and early, Race 1 in fact. Liked the win of Mennea ($1.90) on debut and looks to be a nice prospect. Barrier 1 down the straight is not always the best place to be, in fact it's often not a good spot at all but early in the day it might be okay. Hoping Mark Zahra is positive and goes forward here and finds the rail, if he does, I think this bloke will be winning.

I'll have one bet on J Kah on Saturday, she'll win on Grand Promenade but he's way too short, I'll have a small play in the Winter Championship Final. I'll back Odeon ($7) to beat Dice Roll after running behind it last start. If it comes down to luck in running, we get barrier 2 and the top jockey and I reckon she might try and lead here and pinch a break at the 400m. Might be tough to run down, each way all day.

Race 7 @ Flemington, going to back a Sydney raider that presumably has targeted this race and will go for a spell afterwards, that's Don Arcangelo ($6) for John O'Shea and Damien Oliver. He's a grinding stayer and handles the soft track, looks a nice each way bet around $6.

Best bet will now be in the first in Sydney, backing up on Tycoonist ($2) again in Race 1. He's got to carry the big weight but he's in great form but just not winning. Probably leads from the low draw and will give it a big sight. Sir Davy is the clear and obvious danger and perhaps the only danger.

The other bet I like @ Rosehill is in Race 8, that's Mollycoddle ($5). Goes well third up, got stuck in the wrong part of the track last time out and meets the favourite better at the weights. Ticks a lot of boxes here and we're getting $5 after scratchings.

Nothing for Adelaide, it's just too hard.

Good luck, good punting & gamble responsibly.
