Saturday Racing Preview - 23rd January 2021

Magic Millions racing is done and there's a bit of a quiet period of sorts for the next couple of weeks.

But that doesn't mean we can't find a shitload of winners.

Sandown

Racing in Melbourne heads to the wide open spaces of Sandown, quite keen on one here that ran home brilliantly last start @ Flemington.

That's Race 4 @ Sandown, Double You Tee. It doesn't meet Stars of Carrum and Mosh Music overly well at the weights based on their last start performances, but that said, I think he's got a bit on them. This is a horse I've backed a few times, he's been good to me and I think we've got him ready to go this Saturday, $3.80 or thereabouts on PlayUp looks a nice price.

The other bet in Melbourne comes up in the last race, sticking with the in-form Jamie Kah aboard Propelle. 4 wins in this mares career, all @ 1000m and 1st up goes a little bit better than the stats might suggest. Think there's a touch of class here but there's a couple of disclaimers, we will need some luck. We'll need luck from the barrier and we'll need them to be running on @ Sandown. If that happens to be a mad leader bias, I won't be backing Propelle, if the tracks playing fair or ideally suiting the swoopers, I'll be getting stuck right in each way around $8!

Randwick

Big 10-race card for racing in Sydney on Saturday. Tricky little card of racing with some generous size fields.

First bet comes up in Race 4, have to be on The Face here around $2.20 with the form lines around Salina Dreaming and Forbidden Love. Should go the front and hopefully stay there the whole way!

Next bet comes up in Race 7, going again on an old friend of ours - Sausedge. Good each way value around $6 with Hughie Bowman on board, a bit like Propelle in Melbourne, we want a bit of speed on and hopefully some cover in the run and so long as the track is playing fair, I like this each way all day!

The best bet of the day @ great each way odds comes up in the 8th @ Randwick, you can read about that here!

GIVE IT STRENGTH.

Doomben

Racing in Brisbane returns to Doomben after the big Gold Coast carnival over the past fortnight.

Unfortunately, they've thrown up a ridiculously hard card of racing and there's just the one bet I'll be having in Brisbane on Saturday.

That bet comes up in Race 2, Love Express. 3.5L off Yao Dash at the coast two weeks ago, that's really good form. Love Express was sandwiched away on the rail in the run and didn't get much luck in the straight, the question mark might be the step up to the 1600m but the small field should mean a fairly slow tempo to give it it's chance of running the trip. R Fradd on, that blokes owes me a bit, happy to back it around $4.40.

For the rest of the Brisbane card, I am going to do the big Marnus Labuschagne and let it go straight through to the keeper.

The other bet I'll be having Saturday however is over in Adelaide. We've backed this thing before with good success, it's Taken Off in Race 5. I almost made it the bet of the day again but leant the other way. Regardless, this is a good horse and a good bet around $2.40 in the 5th @ Gawler.

Good luck, good punting & gamble responsibly.
