As I said in an article earlier in the week, more placings last week than a dinner table.
More great racing up @ Eagle Farm this Saturday and that's where we will play for the most part.
Let's rip in.
Ayrton goes around early, not sure about the $1.75. I'll Marnus Labuschagne that one and let it go through to the keeper and just watch. Without Thinking ($10) in that race is a nice horse, might need a bit further but Eagle Farm should suit, one to keep an eye on.
Best bet of the day comes up in Race 4 @ Eagle Farm, an old favourite (sort of) of mine, you can read about that here.
Zaaki ($1.50) will just win Race 5, move on.
The J.J. Atkins is Race 7, think it's fairly likely between Converge ($3.60) and Port Louis. With the barrier, I'll lean to Converge after an enormous run home last start. Tim Clark and barrier 5 might get the breaks on Hughie Bowman and Port Louis from the wide draw but wouldn't be surprised to see Hughie show some initiative in this one.
Wow, tough old race. I think I've backed every horse in this race at some point in their career. I'd like to see Apache Chase in ($12) for Jimmy Byrne and Desleigh Forster. He'll lead them up and try and break their hearts, whether he's good enough to hold on is another thing, Mr Quickie ($10) might be the one to get the suck run from the inside and nab him late. I'll lean that way, Tofane in for third.
Deja vu in the last, one of my favourites, Sweet Deal ($5.50). Good run last start and should get a good run from barrier 5, hopefully settles a little closer this week & 1300m is perfect for her. Give Nash Rawiller strength in the last!
Couldn't find anything in Melbourne until the very last and it's a pretty handy race. I'll back Express Pass and Bless Her both to win in the last and try and get a result out of that.
Tough old day @ Sandown, not my favourite track.
Bit like Sandown, I found the Randwick card very hard with not much value.
I'll back Order Again ($5.50) in Race 6 on the heavy track and second up. Scared stiff of Brutality but Order Again on the each way line is a good bet.
Here's the big roughie for the day.
We're heading to Adelaide and backing Busker's Ballad ($51) in Race 8. The form guide doesn't read well but this horse is capable of pulling out a good run on his day.
D Tourneur will take him back and I hope he plays for runs in the straight as opposed to coming around them, if the horse is able to just truck into it and look for gaps, that's the way to ride him, I don't think he's capable of coming wide and running around them in a sustained run.
Give it strength @ $51!
