Just a shocking performance last week.
Even the great mare Paradee couldn't save our bacon. Breaks your heart.
A couple of placings but as Tom Waterhouse would say, we were well down on turnover, well down on turnover.
Anyways, we're back for more.
Tough day of racing in Melbourne, just the 1 bet for me and that will be in Race 6. Sticking with Yonkers that returns to Caulfield.
Drawn well, it'll sit just off the speed and should prove very hard to beat, think Pacodali presents as the only real threat and maybe Another Dollar who we've been with before and now gets 4th up but I think Yonkers will be too strong. $2.80 looks a decent enough price, doubt we'll see much better but I've been wrong before.
If I was forced to have another one, it might be the favourite in the first, Set to Sails, the money has really come for it in a big way.
Two bets this Saturday in Sydney.
I like Stockman in Race 3, if the track was on the worse side of Soft or even into the Heavy range I'd think this bloke is near on unbeatable.
Sadly it's not.
Regardless, there's no superstars in this race and I think he can win after copping a bit of a questionable steer last time out. Probably get better than $5 with the track drying out but I'll be backing him each way.
The other bet is the clear best of the day in Sydney. Tommy Berry stays in town and is on board April Rain ($1.90) in Race 7. Should find a good spot from the barrier near to the speed and suggest it will be far too good. Knight might be the only danger first up from a spell.
Most of the attention this week is @ Eagle Farm & there's some cracking racing.
Early winner in Race 1, that'll be Fashchannel ($2.40) with J Kah in town to ride. Should ping and go forward and probably take up the lead. Think she'll be giving a kick and winning and there's already been very good money for her by Thursday night.
The big spruik of the day is for Ayrton in Race 3, I'll be throwing it in every multi but more interested just to watch that race.
Bit of a gap until Race 6 on the day, backing Port Louis ($7.50) at good each way odds. This horse was backed off the map last time out @ Randwick and finished in behind some good horses in Captivant and Hilal. Hoping Hughie Bowman can get some cover here and I reckon he'll be storming down the outside late.
The best bet of the day across Australia comes up in the QLD Derby, really keen on one here, you can read about that here.
There's 1 more in Brisbane, surprised we're getting $5.50 about Sweet Deal in the last. Drawn a bit sticky but she typically goes forward and makes her own luck and Nash Rawiller has a good affiliation with this girl. Surely the $5.50 doesn't last and if we're chasing our tail, this might be the one to get us out.
Big day of racing! Super keen!
Racing in Adelaide can fark right off now.
Good luck, good punting & gamble responsibly.
