Fark me, tough old day.
Actually made a profit last week with some intelligent staking and some horses running a drum at each way odds.
Back for more punishment this week but treading very carefully.
Very, very carefully.
Diving in early @ the coast, I'll be having a bit on Cellarmaid ($6) which is third up from a spell and looks ready to peak here. Ran home comparably to The Candy Man last week in a race it had no chance of winning, really keen this girl can get back in the winner's circle here.
Race 3 is our best of the day, you can read about that here.
Race 5 @ the Coast is a cracking race, plenty of tempo in it and this will come down to who get the best run. I think that'll be Wisdom of Water ($5), hopefully sits just in behind them and gets an economical run.
Weary of Baller ($8) first up as well, may have a save on him but I'll be backing Wisdom of Water with the most confidence.
There's some other good races up there, Pikey is riding and there's some good chances but the fields are stacked so playing carefully on the coast.
Looks a favourite's day @ Caulfield outside of Race 2, I'll be backing Skelm. Decent horse this fella and the favourite Excelman is no superstar, $9 or thereabouts is attractive.
Outside of that, I'll be having an all up in the two favourites in Race 5 & 9.
Ayrton is a Stradbroke favourite for god sake and gets J Kah, while Holbein just looks a weighted certainty here.
The racing @ Gosford is almost too hard on Saturday.
I'll be taking April Rain ($2.60) in the last race and that's pretty much all I could find. Tommy Berry should get us home and perhaps get us out in the last here.
There's one bet in Adelaide, it's our old mate Debt Collector in Race 4. I was going to make him the bet of the day but he just needs a lot to go in his favour. $8.50 certainly appeals but.
Good luck with it all, it's a tough old day and as always, gamble responsibly.
