Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes Day!
I think it'll be a bit of a favourites day - if not, we'll be singing for our supper!
How well is Regardsmaree going? Fair dinkum. If she had of run in the Orr Stakes last week @ Caulfield, she would have been beaten only 3L. That's good going.
$2 here is short but probably going to be pretty sweet you'd think, Buffalo River the obvious danger and Widgee Turf might be over the odds.
Despite some really good racing, couldn't find anything else until the Group 1 Lightning Stakes which comes up as Race 8. The favourite here - Bivouac ($2.80).
There's good speed here with Nature Strip & Pippie in particular - think Bivouac will just sit off them and go past them around the 100m mark.
Great day of group racing in Sydney, including the Group 2 Apollo.
That'll in fact be the first bet we have on the day, that's right - Race 7 and it's the best of the weekend - you can read about that here.
We might be able to nail the treble straight out here - the next bet comes up in the 8th, Hugh Bowman jumps on Away Game which returns after a Magic Millions campaign. Just didn't get the 1400m, back to the 1200m suits and with a top jockey on - should prove very hard to beat. Keen on this around the $3.20.
Then we'll nail the winner in the last, the Godolphin gelding, Subedar. Bowman again rides for us here and there's already been good money. Tick over trial after the first up run, a close second behind All Time Legend. Keen on this fella here around $2.50 and let's hope we nail the treble straight out!
The card of racing in Brisbane on Saturday is very difficult. Very, very difficult.
The short priced favourite in the second race, Miami Fleiss will be a good watch, $1.45 too short for me but keen to see it repeat what it did on debut.
The only bet I'll have on the weekend will be in the last race, Garibaldi. Another one for Rodd & Gollan that has been in cracking form. $2 or thereabouts, hopefully it is an easy watch.
