Saturday Racing Preview

This is a great day of racing.

Across Sydney & Melbourne on Saturday, there is something like 13 Group races and 4 of them are Group 1's.

A lovely little mid-week win and feeling some confidence.

Let's rip in.

Newmarket Handicap and the Australian Cup - two excellent races!

Keeping the powder dry until Race 6 on the day, that is in fact the Newmarket Handicap. September Run looks extremely hard to beat around the $2.30. Huge run first up behind Nature Strip, we all saw it, step up to 1200m looks ideal - super keen!

Back to the well here in the Australian Cup, backing the tough mare, Paradee ($6). Jeez she's been good to members of the Inside Feed Punters Club.

This might be too much for her but how could you not back her again from the inside barrier? She'll probably lead this field and be mighty hard to catch. Fifty Stars and Steel Prince the big dangers, Shared Ambition in for fourth, there's your first four!

On a scale of 1-10, the Sydney card of racing this weekend is a 10. Outstanding!

The Todman Stakes is Race 2, it is an absolute belter, I won't be betting in that one, I'll just be watching from a Golden Slipper perspective. Profiteer, Remarque & Stay Inside - wowee!

First bet of the day will be in Race 4, Mount Popa ($2.80). This bloke should tag the speed behind Sacramento and hopefully he peels out at the top of the straight and goes past. Nice run first up, crossed the line alongside Shared Ambition - that's good form.

Best of the day in Sydney comes up in Race 5 - cracking race and we're against the favourite, you can read that here!

Have to be with the favourite in Bivouac ($2.60) in the Canterbury Stakes. Run off his feet first up over 1000m, hoping Bossy can get him into a good spot from the sticky gate and the 1300m will suit. Plenty of tempo with Dreamforce, Samadoubt & Mizzy going forward, if Boss man can get that gun spot, this fella should be too good.

Eagle Farm

Tough day in Brisbane, the weather is playing all sorts of games this week, presume we'll either be on a Soft 5 but probably inclined to think we'll get up to the Good 4 range.

Just the 1 bet in Brisbane on the weekend, pretty rare to find Michael Rodd getting around on a $20 horse. But that's what Master Shuhood is in Race 7, he's $21! Might be going off a run early here, he might need third up and 2000m, but @ $21, I've got to have a throw at the stumps with the top jockey on and the wide open spaces of Eagle Farm. Last prep this bloke is winning nice races in Melbourne and running just in behind horses like Yonkers.

Jeez I'd love it if this fella wins!
