Saturday Racing - good weekend to make some cash

Alright, chest out.

Last week we thought it was a tough old weekend, we were right.

This weekend I am keen.

Real keen.

Let's go. Sorry, Lessgo.

Note - I wrote this article on Thursday night, so of the horses have been well backed and some of the prices might be gone - what a shame.

Eagle Farm

Best bet of the day comes up in Race 5 @ Eagle Farm, you can read about that here.

Victory Stakes is Race 8 and you've just got to be with Trekking ($2.40). Trialled unreal, like it always does, Hugh Bowman is up to ride and drawn well in barrier 3 and there appears to be good speed in the race.

Think it'll run down something like Fasika in the last 100m. Hopefully.

Last race of the day, if Garibaldi ($2.60) runs here and not in the earlier race against Trekking, I think he'll just win. Michael Rodd has been booked to ride him in both races so it's just a matter of what they decide to do.

Racing in Melbourne takes a bit of a backseat and we're just having the two bets.

Johandough ($7) was a good thing beaten last start behind Mahamedeis, I am hoping Dean Yendall goes forward on this bloke and he gets near the lead. I think Grand Promenade will get out in the market and the danger might actually be Miyake. But happy each way with Johandough around $7.

The only other one in Melbourne is my old mate Vowmaster ($4.80). Better run last start where he was fairly unlucky, think he'll sit just in behind the speed and making a sweeping run down the outside of the big Sandown track. He's due, in fact, he's overdue but back to the 1000m might be the trick.

Sydney racing goes to Hawkebsury which in all truth is a fairly shit track to have a punt.

That said, I'll have a couple, Race 5 I'll be with Sweet Deal again, gets everything to suit here and around $4.20 it appeals.

Ellsberg ($2.10) should be mighty hard to beat in the Guineas, that's Race 7 and I'm then going to have a little each way play in the Cup on Purple Sector ($7.50). Third up now, he might be ready to go and $7 about a pretty decent horse looks a nice price.

Some good racing in Adelaide this weekend, very tough and competitive.

I'll have something on In Good Health ($4.20) in Race 5 and if they're making ground on the day, Brooklyn Hustle ($11) is over the odds in Race 7, this is a bit easier than what she's been running in recently.

Good luck, good punting & gamble responsibly.
