Sandown Cup Day - 14th November 2020

What a way to finish a Melbourne Cup carnival like no other.

I’m sure some of us have had a great spring and capped it off with a successful final day at Flemington. Racing doesn’t stop, we can continue to chase our losses at the end of spring starting with this week at Sandown!

But before that, two key things to take away from last weekend...

  1. Fuck the TAB, even though I had no money to collect I couldn’t even chase my losses!

  2. How good is the king...Glen Boss, what an amazing spring he has had. I think I can speak for most people, it is an awesome sight seeing Bossy proud and tall as he wins easily by 6 lengths!

Alright,  into this week we have some good features that won’t disappoint starting with the mile race of the Sandown Guineas.

Sandown Guineas - There is a clear favourite in this race who I regretfully declared the last start as a “sure thing”, only to see it go down on the nose was shattering!

However, I honestly can’t see anyone else in this race causing too much trouble for the $1.75 favourite Aysar.

Drawing barrier 1 and D Lane on board, it should get a good run however I won’t be loading up this time at odds on that is for sure.

Race 7 - Sandown Cup: I will be following the great G Boss and getting on Etah James.

There are a few reasons why I’m keen on this mare for this race, one of them obviously being the Glen Boss has ridden this mare before and in a recent interview, Bossy was very confident.

She resumes after a solid Melbourne Cup performance and has proven herself at this distance before. Drawn barrier 10, she should jump well and Bossy will find her some cover and I think she will have every chance to run on at the end. At $6.50, not a bad bet at all.

Race 8 - Zipping Classic: Historically horses that run in the Melbourne Cup and back up for this race tend to do very well. Avilius draws perfectly and backing up from the Cup loves 2400m.

All signs are pointing to him.

However, there is another that stands out to me, that is Lord Belvedere. Up against a stronger class of horses, however, has shown he has plenty of potential. He has drawn barrier 2 and loves storming home in a 2400m race. At $6 I will be having something on.

Other Mail

Race 2 Sandown - La Mexicana

This filly has plenty of talent and draws perfectly for this race. She had a great spring and has the figures to win this race. She is $2.70, I feel like if you want to back her, do it now, not sure the price will last.

Race 3 Sandown - Order of Command

Has had a very up and down spring but the last start showed us what we want to see. 1300m is the question however I feel like Danny O'Brien has a plan for this horse and definitely can’t ignore it at $6.

Enjoy another great day of racing, best of luck to everyone and as always, gamble responsibly.
