Golf is hot right now and whilst for me and my mates, the online version will never be as good as the real thing, the new PGA Tour 2K21 must be one of the most highly anticipated gaming releases in recent times. Now, Minecraft, Fortnite & COD nerds, don't come at me, I do sports games only so send all your hate mail elsewhere, presumably you won't be reading this article anyways.
I digress, 2K is less than a month away from the release of their eagerly anticipated PGA Tour Golf Game. 2K has crushed it in terms of what they've been able to do in getting players, brands and courses on to this game.
PGA Tour 2K21, scheduled for release in Australia on August 21, will feature 12 PGA Tour Professionals & 15 Licensed PGA Tour courses.
The players? Some big names including front cover star, Justin Thomas, who joins other households names such as Matt Kuchar, Tony Finau, Sergio Garcia & more. Oh, don't forget a beefed up Bryson Dechambeau, I am sure it is going to be thrilling to be able to hit a ball 400 + yards, even if it is an animation. Let's just hope you can actually play as the Pro's, there was word suggesting that you might not be able to, that would be a shame.
The coursers are each scanned using cutting-edge technology to bring the fairways, greens, bunkers, trees, water traps and everything to life!
In addition to securing a number of great players and courses, 2K has also partnered with a number of the world's leading brands including Adidas, Polo, Ralph Lauren, Callaway, Bridgestone, TaylorMade Golf & more. This is feeling pretty life like!
Now I am old golf gamer from way back, I've had the many different versions of the Tiger Woods brand, then the Rory McIlroy release and more recently Golf Club 2019, which allowed you to play the Season Mode and compete for the Fed Ex Cup. This was a pretty good game that I picked up for $29 around 18 months ago and to be fair, the graphics of the game don't look too dis-similar to the early footage I have seen of the 2K21 gameplay.
The thing about the Golf Club 2019, it is super realistic, unlike the old days of Tiger Woods Golf, you can't backspin the ball mid air when you've hit a shit shot, that just made it too easy! Hopefully 2K21 exceeds what I deem the lofty heights set by the Golf Club 2019 edition.
One thing I know for sure, get a couple of buddies, if Coronavirus allows it, get together, if not, do it online, grab a couple of brewskies and just binge out on this thing. If you're under legal betting age, then of course, we don't condone it, but if you're of age, throw a few bob on it and play some of the best courses in the world from the comfort of your living room.
Can you tell I am fairly excited?
