NRL Finals Week 2 - a golden point job?

No real surprises from Finals Week 1.

A funny theme emerged, with all underdogs bouncing out to early leads, before their more fancied opponent fought back and won.

The Roosters in particular looked as though they might have re-captured their best form, and in patches, they probably did. That was before an absolute masterclass from Nathan Cleary.

Give that man the Dally M right now.

Cronulla, Parra & Newcastle all looked like springing a surprise, but then all conceded some big scores.

So Penrith and Melbourne predictably earned themselves the week off and that grand final quinella looks very likely.

Who wins this week?

Roosters ($1.46) Vs Raiders ($2.72)

Well the Roosters, perhaps the only team capable of disrupting that Panthers Vs Storm GF. On that logic, I'll be tipping them to get the job done on Friday night at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Jake Friend and Sonny Bill Williams return to the Roosters side, whilst the Raiders seemingly will remain unchanged.

How did the NRL not appoint Ben Cummins to this game, let's be honest!!

These two teams played just over a month ago, the Roosters fairly dominant winners by 12. Think it'll be a pretty similar story this week, they'll set up a blockbuster preliminary final with the Storm.

Roosters will win, James Tedesco will score a try and the total match points will be under 42.5, there's your same game multi!

Roosters by 14.

Parramatta ($2.72) Vs Souths Sydney ($1.46)

We thought, probably like most, that Parramatta would crash out in straight sets in the finals.

Nothing from last week really changed that opinion and this week, they'll be without Maika Sivo, that won't help. Blake Ferguson also looked a bit ginger, crooked nose and all, but is expected to play.

The Bunnies missed the bus but still managed to give Newcastle a thumping. Second time this year that they'd let the Knights get out to an early lead, but by halftime, Rabbitohs fans would have been sitting fairly comfortably.

Cody Walker and Adam Reynolds are ripping shit up and the Bunnies are well fancied in this one.

That said, I get the feeling this'll be a tight one. Perhaps even a golden point job. Let's stick the neck out and tip an Adam Reynolds field goal to decide things in extra time!

Rabbitohs by 1.
