Ipswich 25/11/2020

We got them Saturday! Sent out two tips for the Sunshine Coast, and both did the job.

Midweek racing yet again heads to Ipswich. Soft 5, rail out 9 metres, with the track currently rated a Soft 5. Depending on whether or not there is an afternoon storm will determine whether the track gets upgraded or stays in the soft region.

With the rail being out so far at Ipswich, it can cause a lot of hard luck for back markers.

This meeting will see quite a few short price favourites, and I can understand why. Their form for their individual races seems far better than their competitors, and all seem to get in with a generous weight. I definitely would suggest finding a few short ones that you like and multi them up.

By far the best chance comes in Race 7, while the generous odds come in Races 2 & 4.

Race 1: Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1200m

We start the day in the first race. A small race that on paper does not look to have too much speed. Les Ross sends around Mishani Enchanted with stable apprentice Sheriden Tomlinson on board and claims 3kgs.

She comes back from a strong Saturday race in town, where she ran 4th. Compared to the rest of this field, the last 600m of that race was much better. Third up and finds its way to a 1200m race, with the claim comes down to 52kgs. Hoping she can land just behind the leaders and be too good for this field!

Betting Play: Mishani Enchanted to win @ $1.80

Race 2: Three-Year-Old Benchmark 70 1200m

Another small field, but a race with a fair bit of quality. Miss Barty will most likely set the tempo with lightweight Patis on board. Respecting the ability of Miss Lot Won and Jetty, but Mistress of Doom is a serious horse.

This promising filly was ultra impressive before heading for a spell, she has come back and trialled a treat. Thompson claims 2kgs for Thompson bringing her weight down to 53.5kgs. Expecting this girl to sit just behind the leader and be too good. She is a promising filly with a lot of ability heading into the summer carnival.

Take what price we can, as she should be winning multiple races this prep.

Betting Play: Mistress of Doom to win @ $3.00

Race 4: Benchmark 60 1200m

David Vandyke has the current favourite Good Chat which is around $1.75, and without doubt that gelding is the horse to beat. Killerman’s Run lines up here with Fazackerkey claiming 3kgs. 3/3 for this track, will sit on pace which barrier 3 only aids its chances and this prep it has been beaten by the likes of Totally Charmed, Sugar Boom, Widespread and Beaufort Park. The two favourites are drawn outside and will need some luck, where this bloke should have the run of the race and be given every chance.

Betting Play: Killerman’s Run each way @ $14 & $3.20

Race 5: Filly and Mares Benchmark 65 1200m

We tipped this mare last start, mentioning her form from down south and some of the class she ran into. She led and was extremely impressive! She has drawn barrier 7, but with little speed she shouldn’t find it hard to hold a positive position. Can’t see any dangers in this field, she looks too classy and should be far too good.

Betting Play: Dis Dah Wun to win and multi into everything you like @ $1.50

Midweek Multi

Mishani Enchanted to win @$1.80

Mistress of Doom to win @$3.00

Dis Dah Wun to win @$1.50

$1 = $7.56
