Edging Closer...

In the post-Pikey blur of a Saturday night, the temptation to pile-in to the first favourite at Lingfield can be overwhelming.

Unrecognizable horses, jockeys, and trainers reduce study of any form to following favourite numbers, ‘red’ horses, and trusty greys.

Though I must acknowledge this strategy delivers occasionally, prompting joyous scenes in emptying sports bars across the continent, tonight I ask you to delay your gratification.

Edging is the act of stopping a pleasurable act moments before completion to increase your satisfaction later.

Though the first at Lingy may loom large, take pause, and know that greater things will come (heyooo) and when they do, we’ll hope these two come together (heyooooooo).

Ask A Honey Bee in the fourth (00:40AEST) and Aye Right in the fifth race at Doncaster (01:15AEST) both look like good chances for those who show strength and wait.

Both should relish its flat track at respective prices of $7 ad $9 at the time of writing and, despite being geldings, they’re strong gallopers capable of big finishes (heyoooooooooooo).

Adios.
