Celebrating at half time

Sharjah was outclassed and ran second on Tuesday.

But that’s in the past. Both tips saluted last night and life is good. Very, very good.

But the week is only half over. And there’s another three to fire at tonight and tomorrow.

Caribbean Boy is shorter than I’d like at $9.00 in the 01:40AEST contest tonight but he’s still the best chance in the race. The handicapper has given him some grief but I still think he’s worth an each-way bet (just).

Then it’s on to Friday. The main event is the Cheltenham Gold Cup at 01:05AEST and although it goes against every fibre of my being, the favourite looks seriously good. Winner of the last two runnings of this race Al Boum Photo is a good bet at $3.50.

There is a stalker I can’t ignore though…

Lostintranslation ran third 12 months ago and has struggled to find form since. However, if Native River and Frodon go hard in front like they usually do, his sit and swoop tactics could come to the fore. At $25 and bigger, a small each-way go is a must.

Some will dislike backing two in the same race but I’m happy to do it. After two out of three winners at decent prices this week, the bookies will not have any more of my cash than they deserve.

PS. Addeybb just wins on Saturday.
