International Racing Feed, Vol 1.

You feel empty.

All IF Boss’s tips have been beaten and although Willie Pike has just ridden his fifth winner to get you back to even on the day. Things are running out of steam.

Don’t despair. Just because the night crew has taken over on Sky Racing, the horses jump obstacles, and the callers speak with accents doesn’t mean the punting is over.

This column aims to carry you late into the night with racing insight and tips from the UK, Ireland, and across Europe. It hopes to add some class and sophistication to your late-night betting. To save you the embarrassment of losing your hard-won cash on questionable beasts at Fairview or blindly backing the first favourite at Lingfield.

On to this evenings’ cards...

Having promised so much, this is a dreadful weekend to start this column. Rain, snow, and frost will almost certainly mean a couple of meetings are called off but that’s the nature of the beast in the north of England in fucking January. There is one small flicker of hope on the foggy horizon though, and his name is Amoola Gold.

He can get the better of favourite Sky Pirate in the second race at Warwick (11:15AEST) and is worth a bet at $3.50 at time of writing. Sky Pirate won his last race, but he’s finished second more times than Ron Jeremy over the course of his career so we’re looking elsewhere.

Amoola Gold will handle the heavy track and his jockey and trainer are in good form, good enough reasons to get behind him.

Au revoir until next week.
