Here's where the Tigers will finish in 2021

Updated: Dec 11, 2020

Holey!

The Tigers made a stack of changes this off-season.

Let's look at the key movements.

Who'd they lose? Well it's fairly long list of talent.

Obviously the big one is the release of Benji Marshall, his career with the Tigers is over. While they also bid farewell to a retiring Chris Lawrence.

Harry Grant of course is huge also, what a year for Grant. He now heads back to Melbourne to presumably take over from Cameron Smith.

The Tigers also say goodbye to Josh Reynolds who heads to England. It'd be fair to say the Tigers never saw the best of Reynolds.

So they're down a few there.

Who do they get?

Well, this is looking pretty good actually.

Of course in recent weeks, Joe Ofahengaue has come down from Brisbane after Kevvie Walters said he could explore other options. James Roberts is across from Souths, it would be good to get him fit and firing again.

You'd think Roberts will play on the right side alongside David Nofoaluma - that's pretty exciting!

They also get the Panthers skipper from 2020, James Tamou - a big get to provide leadership to the pack and more broadly, across the club.

The signings look good.

Wests are currently paying $3.50 to make the Top 8.

They haven't played finals since 2011 and have finished 9th in 3 out of the 5 seasons. They're always around the mark.

Can they play finals footy?

The simple answer is yes, they can.

I really like Tamou coming in and helping out their young pack, whilst they'll be reliant on Moses Mbye and Luke Brooks leading the backline while trying to prevent Joey Leilua from giving away too many penalties - without curtailing his aggression!

The draw is tough early for the Tigers.

Away in Canberra in Round 1, followed by the Roosters in Round 2.

They'll then go to Newcastle, then host the Eels & Cowboys in the next 3 rounds. If they're 3 from 5 to start the season - they'll consider that a pass mark, surely.

At their best, they can get it done and I like the 3 key signings.

You just know they'll be around that 6th - 10th bracket, they almost always are!

I reckon they scrape in and finish 8th!
