We ended the regular season of the BBL with an absolute bang.
It seemed like the BBL started 6 months ago, it just goes on forever.
3-leg multi on Australia Day and the balance soared!
You can read about here. From a starting balance of $400, we ended with $1,695. Admittedly, we did lose all the initial $200 deposit and had to go down to Cash Converters for a short-term loan.
Alright enough gloating.
Finals time in the BBL - it is a slightly confusing finals tree but from what I can work out, if you keep winning games, you'll do okay.
The Heat survived a scare to sneak into the finals whilst the Strikers were gifted their spot when the Hurricanes decided they didn't want to bat with half a brain.
The Heat will win this game, Lynny has found some form and having Marnus Labuschagne in there to anchor the innings is absolutely the right recipe.
The Heat get this one at the Gabba, how did that happen with COVID going on? Who knows.
But the home ground advantage will help, it will be interesting to see whether they stick with picking Joe Burns or will his dismal summer continue and he's dropped to the X Factor position perhaps.
The Strikers are obviously reliant on Alex Carey - he's been in sensational touch. He of course scored a 100 against the Heat just on about 10 days ago when the Strikers whipped the Heat by 80 odd runs.
The Strikers batted first on that occasion, I think batting first is the right thing for the Heat, so I hope Brisbane either win the toss and bat or they are sent in.
Admittedly, Wes Agar has been bowling well, surprised he missed out on the T20 squad and they have the old stalwart in Peter Siddle. Travis Head too if of course back from the test squad.
But if Lynny gets going, don't be driving down Vulture Street around 8pm on Friday night, you might cop a stray cricket ball through the windscreen. I also really like Mitch Swepson coming back, he and Marnus caused the Scorchers a fair headache with their leg-spin the other day.
Backing the Heat to beat the Strikers on their home deck, not sure how many they'll be able to squeeze into the Gabba but let's hope it's rocking!
