How good is this guy.
He's making hackers like me feel really bad about our golf games when he does it with such ease.
DJ (-16) holds a 4 shot lead as he enters the final round of The Masters. There's 3 tied chasing him, Sungjae Im, Abraham Ancer and the Australian footballer turned golfer, Cameron Smith.
Our Australian readers will be on the floor laughing at that comment, anyways back to it.
After Round 2, the 5 blokes that we had some money were looking in fairly good shape.
Jon Rahm is the best of them now, although he himself had an indifferent day on Saturday, he's 7 off DJ and you'd think too far back to be troubling the scorers.
From the others, Tiger couldn't get it going and appeared to have a stiff back, Oosthuizen had 75, Phil had 79 and Patrick Cantlay also struggled.
So in that regard, it's looking a bit grim.
But how about Dustin Johnson!
The World Number # 1, is seriously hot right now, in his last 9 tournaments, he's won twice, had 3 other Top 5's and finished T6 in the US Open.
Not bad form!
He's has now tied the 54 hole scoring record @ The Masters and barring some sort of catastrophe or one of the chasing pack going seriously low, you'd think DJ is going to claim his first green jacket.
His ball striking is just out of this world, he's got the driver on a string and his iron game has been as solid as a rock. It's a pretty good combination when you can also putt as well as him.
Going into this week, all the talk was that Bryson Dechambeau would take down Augusta with this power game, it seems we forgot about DJ!
On the note of Bryson, he's -3 and out of contention but I'd be backing him to go very low in the final round. Those poor Bridgestone Golf Balls that he uses are going to cop some stick off the tee tomorrow I reckon!
It might be a case of a year too soon for Dechambeau and I think you can throw Jon Rahm in that category as well.
But for now, let's appreciate Dustin Johnson, the World Number # 1 and surely he becomes a Masters Champion on Sunday @ Augusta!
