BBL Preview - Every match. Every day.

Updated: Jan 25

Every game previewed, every day.

This is our second thread as near finals time, if you want to go through the original thread, you can do that here.

Each day, we will preview the BBL and provide you our selections.

We started with a BBL bank of $200 - unfortunately we lost that and had to top it up!

Let's get started.

________________________________________________________________________

Starting Balance: $400

Current Balance: $850

Australia Day - I think that's what it's called and the last of the last of the regular season fixtures for the BBL and so many different scenarios can effect who's playing finals.

It would be rude not to go with a three leg multi here and really try and get this bank into the thousands. Lessgo.

Austraila Day - Brisbane Heat $2.24 vs Perth Scorchers $1.65

Two teams that are desperate for very different reasons.

The Heat need to win to play finals, they might even need the full four points, while the Scorchers are pushing for top of the table.

I tipped this to be the final about 5 weeks ago, it's not looking too good if the Heat don't really get going today!

I'll tip them and just hope that C Lynn has a day out with the bat, give him strength.

Heat as the first leg of the multi.

Australia Day - Melbourne Renegades $2.32 vs Hobart Hurricanes $1.61

Hurricanes are sitting 5th, if the Heat win, then they have to win and it would mean the Strikers might miss out on finals - spicy.

A diabolical year for the Renegades, it's been well document that Aaron Finch has had an absolute shocker.

The 'Canes have been led well by Ben McDermott all year and if he, Matthew Wade and D'Arcy Short are firing, then they've got plenty of runs in them.

I'm just going to tip the Renegades upset here based on the fact that they'll go out there and play with reckless abandonment. Surely Finch is due - surely.

Shaun Marsh is due as well.

Two upsets in a row? Renegades in the second leg of the multi.

Australia Day - Melbourne Stars $1.99 vs Sydney Sixers $1,82

Sixers got their international stars back and haven't won a game, shit is unravelling for them at the moment.

The Stars needs a bit of a miracle today to play finals and I just don't think they're going well enough, it's been a pretty disappointing year to be fair.

Think the Sixers will turn it around today, tipping Philippe and Henriques to go BIG today.

Sixers in the third leg of the multi.

So it's Heat, Renegades & Sixers - $100 on @ $9.45. Good luck if you get on!

________________________________________________________________________

Starting Balance: $400

Current Balance: $999

The Scorchers shoot to the top of the BBL ladder - you beauty! Admittedly the Sixers do have a game in hand, but still, we're looking good.

The Heat had a nice win too, they're right in the mix now.

Two games on today - let's rip in.

24th January - Sydney Thunder $1.74 vs Adelaide Strikers $2.10

In horse racing terms, I thought the Thunder might have been peaking on their run as far as their 2021 BBL campaign and then they come out and score 230 and smash the Sixers.

I'll go with them today, the Strikers aren't the same team without Rashid Kahn, albeit Alex Carey has thrown them on his shoulders and is in cracking form.

Big game this one, whoever wins is 3rd on the ladder, if that's the Thunder, they're just shy of the top spot.

Not overly confident on this one, but going with the Thunder - Alex Hales is box office stuff.

Thunder in the first leg of the multi.

24th January - Sydney Sixers $1.76 vs Hobart Hurricanes $2.06

The Sixers get their opportunity to claim back top spot on the ladder and I think they'll do it.

Hurricanes form has been up & down, Matthew Wade is of course back in which'll help, but aside from the Thunder thumping the other night which was an excellent game of cricket, the Sixers have been pretty flawless.

Going with the Sydney double tonight to keep the momentum going.

Thunder all up Sixers, $149 on @ $3.06.

Starting Balance: $400

Current Balance: $700

Well Alex Hales owes me $150, wowee what an innings.

Scorchers did the business and then the Thunder went off - the Sixers actually did quite well to get 186.

But, a bit of a hit to the balance - glad we didn't go the full chips in.

Righto, two games today, my enthusiasm for the multi will not waiver despite last night's heart ache.

23rd January - Melbourne Renegades $2.12 vs Brisbane Heat $1.72

I fear for the Heat here, Aaron Finch will be so angry.

How else will he try and get out tonight? Probably handled ball or something - he's tried just about everything else.

On form you have to say the Heat, but Finchy goes off, then Brisbane might be in trouble. Shaun Marsh is also due.

The Heat have a great batting line up - on paper. They haven't exactly been firing.

Keen to watch this one actually, maybe a cheeky beer whilst I do it. Heat to win but in a really high scoring close game I reckon.

Heat in the first leg of the multi.

23rd January - Melbourne Stars $2.08 vs Perth Scorchers $1.74

Scorchers on the quick back up, they've now got that top spot on the BBL ladder in their sights.

Another cracking match up this, we're so far into the competition, we know enough about every team. The Stars on their day can beat anyone, but the Scorchers are the safer commodity here.

Scorchers to win again.

A good night of BBL action, Heat all up the Scorchers, $100 on @ $2.99!

Starting Balance: $400

Current Balance: $850

Ouch - Alex Carey tore us a new arsehole last night and destroyed by beloved Heat. Good timing from Carey - jeez he was hitting them well.

Two games today to stick our teeth into, aside from night racing, there really isn't much else to watch so these two games have come at the right time!

22nd January - Hobart Hurricanes $2.10 vs Perth Scorchers $1.73

It'd be rude not to do a nice multi for the two games tonight.

In terms of returning stars, don't think the Scorchers get anyone, but Matthew Wade should be in for the Hurricanes you'd think. Doubt Tim Paine will play, probably not tonight you'd think.

The competition is that tight that, whoever wins will be second on the ladder as of this evening.

I think it sets up well for the Wade to make a bit of a statement here, lots of talk that his spot in the test team is under fire.

That said, the Scorchers are likely the better team and as regular readers will know, we're backing them to win it all.

Scorchers here as the first leg of the multi.

22nd January - Sydney Sixers $1.75 vs Sydney Thunder $2.08

Sydney derby time again, Sixers are flying high on the ladder and think they're going to be too strong here for the Thunder.

Not sure on who will return, you'd think Starcy and Pat Cummins would be taking a break, Nathan Lyon definitely is.

Moses Henriques and Sean Abbott should line up for the Sixers and will be desperate to play some cricket - albeit they'll be a bit ring rusty.

What's David Warner doing? Presumably resting that groin.

Sixers look like they're only getting stronger!

Scorchers into the Sixers and pretty keen on it, $150 on the multi @ $3.03.

Starting Balance: $400

Current Balance: $951.30

Mackenzie Harvey - are you kidding me!?

The Renegades salute!

How about Aaron Finch, he is finding new ways to get out each night! But 47 from Harvey was pretty to watch and it put a huge dent in the Stars finals hopes!

How about our balance - jeez it was a pretty grim start to our BBL campaign but we've turned it around in fine style.

21st January - Adelaide Strikers $1.93 vs Brisbane Heat $1.83

HUGE game for both sides. HUGE, underline it. HUGE, there you go.

The BBL Ladder is that congested that whoever wins tonight could go as high as second, if you lose, you're 7th - ya kidding!

Who comes back in for these two sides?

Maybe Labuschagne and Mitch Swepson for the Heat, Neser and Head for the Strikers? Not sure if Marnus would play, you'd think the other three would be chomping at the bit to get a game under their belt.

Adelaide get this one @ home, that could be the difference but they just seem a different side without Rashid Kahn.

This one is tight, I think pretty comparable bowling units and maybe a slight lean to the Heat in terms of the batting stocks - particularly if Marnus plays of course.

The heart says the Heat as well, it's time for Lynny to get really BIG and not just get a start and get out - if he bats for 12-15 overs the Heat just win.

Backing the Heat, $101.30 on them @ $1.83.

________________________________________________________________________

Starting Balance: $400

Current Balance: $832.50

Pretty easy stuff for the Scorchers, as soon as Lynny got out stumped, you pretty much got the feeling the Heat were in trouble from then on.

Such an important game, Scorchers now 2nd on the ladder, Heat slip to 6th - yikes.

20th January - Melbourne Renegades $2.44 vs Melbourne Stars $1.55

Any bit of common sense, science or any other form of intelligence absolutely points to the Stars beating the Renegades.

What is going on with Aaron Finch? It's been an unbelievable run of outs.
