The 'Bool Carnival time.
Never been, but suspect it's just like heaven.
It's always a bit of a lottery to find a winner, we'll do our best.
Eagle Farm Race 4 - Sea Raider - $5
Our old mate James Frayne tipped this horse about two months ago, last race on a Saturday in Brisbane.
I think it was Eagle Farm in fact, it won well.
Think this is a pretty ordinary race and he'll get his chance again here today.
Handles all surfaces, Maloney should just stalk the speed from barrier 3 or he might even take it up but I think he'll sit off Bold Warrior.
Jeez he looks well placed here with a bunch of them either out of form or poorly placed.
Eagle Farm Race 8 - See Marie - $4
Pretty handy filly this that is presumably on an Oaks campaign. First up 1600m isn't ideal but Jim Byrne and barrier 1 is.
She'll probably get back in the run and need the tempo on a bit but I think she might have a class edge here.
The Oaks is a month away so she won't be fully wound up but she might have enough for these, the mounting yard and late betting flucs will tell us probably before she runs whether she's ready to go.
Think we might get better than $4 but keen on her.
Warrnambool - Race 8 - Jungle Edge - $18
I am seeing a Heavy track, a good barrier and Jungle Edge and I am wondering why the $18?
Did he lose a leg?
HUGE DISCLAIMER: If it is not a heavy track on Wednesday, I am not backing Jungle Edge.
But if it is, 19 starts on Heavy tracks for 8 wins, 3 seconds and 3 thirds.
Probably sits just off the speed and if the track is chopping up and is nice and sloppy, this fellow might just pinch it.
Remember, the track must be heavy.
Staking plan is tough, it depends on a few things. If See Marie blows out late in the market, I'll be less confident as that might mean she needs the run, if she's firm in the market, I'll be getting stuck in.
If Jungle Edge isn't on heavy, I won't back him at all.
That leaves Sea Raider as our best of the day.
Do with that what you will, just do it responsibly you silly bastards.
